Box Jellyfish
Box Jellyfish (Chironex Fleckeri)
The Box Jellyfish is known to have one of the most lethal stings of jellyfish. This aids greatly in the catching of food. The way in which many jellyfish including the Box Jellyfish digest their food is not very complex. Food is taken in through the mouth which is located at the center of the bell within the tentacles. Nutrients are absorbed in the gastrovascular cavity, and any waste products are sent back out through the mouth. This is due to the fact that the mouth is the only opening in a Box Jellyfish.
